Missouri Foxtrotting Horses
At Cebourn, we strive to breed the best Foxtrotting Horses, with natural
gait and trainability. All
MIDNIGHT MARAUDER H. |
of our foals are imprinted at birth and handled
extensively so that, by the time they are yearlings, they can be handled
easily, which includes leading, clipping, farrier work and trailer loading.
Training to ride begins as two-year-olds. The process is a slow one.
We feel that by taking the training slower, the horses do not get confused
and are more willing to please. We start with ground driving and, when
we feel the individual is ready, we get on for our first ride. Riding
sessions start for 10 to 15 minutes and increase as the strength of the
horse develops. They are taught to be light in the bridle and to respond
to both leg and voice commands. When ready, these youngsters are trail
ridden and taught to trust their rider.
APACHE'S PUMPKIN
BOOMERANG'S ACE x APACHE TEARS (deceased)
Pumpkin is a sorrel mare that produces the best temperament and gait. She has produced 12 foals including 2 stud colts. All but 3 stayed with us to be started under saddle. Her excellent temperament and pedigree make her our number 1 Foxtrotter brood mare. Her last foal by FLASH'S DREAMAKER was this black and white tabiano filly now owned by Dennis Hart of Independence, Iowa.

WORTH A PRETTY PENNY
WORTH A PRETTY PENNY was the first foal to be born at Cebourn Farm. She is by HIGH DOLLAR JOE and her dam is our foundation mare, APACHE'S PUMPKIN. She produced her first foal in the summer of 2001, and is pictured here with him. She has become the pride of our then 12-year-old granddaughter, Lindsey, who has learned to become quite the rider. Penny's excellent gait and temperament have made her a very important equine here. Along with babysitting the grand kids, she is becoming one of Charlie's favorite mounts at the field trials.

American Saddlebreds
Our Saddlebreds spend the first two years here at Cebourn. They become
social with people, learn to lead and be handled for the farrier, and
for grooming.
At two years of age, they move to Kris Martalock at Bellaire Farms. While
under the guidance of Ms. Martalock, they are evaluated and it is decided
what division they will be shown in and are prepared for the show ring.

"Mona" Lisa, born May 11, 2002. She is Chatter's first foal and her sire is State of the Art. Her registered name is Talkin' Phine Art. Nominated for Wisconsin Futurity.

Mona was born here on the farm and started her showing in the Weanling Wisconsin Futurity. She has been in training on and off for the last two years. Because she is slow to mature, we have not pushed her training.

Her first foal by Highpoint's Dream of Genius is pictured below.

Scarlett is in foal to Callaway's Northern Kiss and due to foal in April 2008. This will be a Wisconsin Limited Breeders Futurity baby.
